What is better Wushu or Kung fu?

I want to try some martial arts. What is the best wushu or kung fu. What teaches more than the basic shots(using weapons).|||ist the same thing|||Both wushu and kung fu refer to chinese martial arts. The proper term is wushu. They%26#039;re the same thing basically. Both can refer to one of three things:

1) Performance wushu

This is similar to gymnastics and involve martial art patterns and maneuvers for which competitors are judged and given points according to specific rules. The forms comprise basic movements (stances, kicks, punches, balances, jumps, sweeps and throws) based on aggregate categories traditional Chinese martial art style

2) Sanshou/Sanda

Training is similar to kickboxing training, except that throws and sweeps are also drilled extensively. Physical conditioning is also important in sport full-contact fighting.

3) Traditional Chinese martial arts:

This is purely training for self-defense, though they%26#039;re very likely to teach you chinese philosophy too. They teach you everything you need to know so you can handle yourself. The video above is an example of how Tai chi can be used for self defense. There are literally hundreds of traditional chinese martial arts and can vary greatly. Outside China, though, it%26#039;ll be hard finding a Master that actually knows the stuff for real.

The (1), however, will not teach you any self-defense. (2) and (3) will give you good self-defense skills. Only (3) will actually teach you how to fight with weapons, though it%26#039;s rarely taught unless you find a really good instructor and practice for years and years.|||depends if your looking to preform theater or gymnasitics then pick wushu if your looking to fight good with weapons pick kung fu|||If you want to train in weapons do Budo.

Wushu is an acrobatic art.
