What is differece Between KUNG FU and WUSHU?

i understand kungfu

but i never understand what is wushu, please help me|||They%26#039;re the same thing. Wushu and kung fu are attached to almost any martial art that comes from China. They%26#039;re both a generic name for literally hundreds of individual Chinese fighting arts.

Wushu is the CORRECT term. In Chinese, kung fu is a mark for time. You can use kung fu to describe anything as long as you%26#039;ve spent a lot of time working on it. For example, you can say that a chef%26#039;s cooking kungfu is great. Because that chef has taken 10 to 20 years to gain those abilities. Since wushu takes a lot of time to learn, so you can say your kung fu is great. But wushu actually means martial arts.

The term kung fu was not popular until the 20th century, thus the word would be seldom found in any ancient texts. The term was first known to have been reported by a Westerner, French Jesuit missionary Jean Joseph Marie Amiot, in the 18th century and was known little in the mainstream English language until approximately the late 1960s, when it became popular because of the Hong Kong films, especially those by Bruce Lee, and later Kung Fu - the television series. Before that it was referred to primarily as %26quot;Chinese boxing%26quot;.

|||Kung fu means %26quot;accomplished skill%26quot;. Wushu means %26quot;fighting art%26quot;. There is traditional wushu (what we in the West know as kung fu), which is for fighting and self defense. Then there is contemporary wushu which is a performance art...exaggerated kung fu moves and gymnastics. Looks great but it%26#039;s not for fighting.|||well described by hammy nough said
