Would "wushu" be a regular event in the next Olympics?

%26quot;Wushu%26quot; was a demonstration sport in Beijing and the Philippines (yes folks, the PHILIPPINES) won a gold medal (Willy Wang) and other team members won silver and bronze medals. Read all about it ---

http://mysassymind.blogspot.com/2008/08/...|||I hope so. Though they included the event in Beijing since its a popular sport in Asia. Some say that they are considering it since Wu Shu has become popular also in the West. Who knows, it might be included in London 2012. BMX became an olympic sport...maybe wushu has a chance then.|||I hope so. And if not in the next Olmpics, maybe in the future editions. For them to allow wushu as a demonstration sport indicates that they see its growing popularity.

I know, too, that there is a lobby to make wushu a regular event. I hope they succeed so Filipinos will have even better chances of bringing home an Olympic gold.|||i do hope so, so that we can have strong contenders for the said sport and a chance to have a medal...|||Very unlikely. While many Asian countries would support it, many European, North and South American countries my opt to shy away from it being a relatively unknown sport in their native lands.|||i read somewhere that they need at least 50 countries joining the competition before it be considered a regular event.|||Videoke should be the accepted sport , and I feel that Philippines would get gold medal for that each time |||i am looking forward to it! =p

i hope that it would be a famous sport in the olympics
