Does the taolu form of wushu can be apply in combat?

i know jet li studied only taolu, but in his films, he was able to apply the taolu in combat. is it possible in the real life?|||He was able to apply it in combat in films because... it%26#039;s in films. Surprisingly enough. Not in combat. Jet Li is not a fighter, contemporary wushu is not for fighting.

Somebody with great athleticism and natural fighting aptitude might become a good fighter training only wushu, but it%26#039;s not something just anyone could do and said person would be a better fighter training something else.

There%26#039;s nothing wrong with contemporary wushu, it does look cool, and if done for what it%26#039;s intended, great. But if you want to learn to fight, train something else, like at a school which produces San Shou fighters. Having a wushu background will give somebody useful physical attributes at least.|||Regardless of how it has evolved, the fundamental origin of current wushu is the traditional Chinese Martial Arts. Whether it can be applied in terms of fighting, I believe it depends on the level of understanding of those movements and its application by each different person. No doubt, it is less actual fighting skills than the traditional training method, nevertheless, it does included self-defence techniques. It may appear that there is less actual fighting in current training method than in the traditional training method, there are essences of self-defence techniques embedded.

I do think that some of the movements in taolu can be applied for self-defense but this would require aditional training methods that aren%26#039;t usually taught. If you have a school that teaches Wushu, near you, then go ask, but I would recommend learning the genuine stuff.|||Modern Wushu separates into forms and sparring (Sanda), and I am sure Jet studied Xing Yi and Bagua Zhang as well. In the movie %26quot;The One%26quot;, the bad Jet Li was using Xing Yi techniques the good Jet Li, Bagua. Great fight scene...wow.

Jet once said that while working on the movie %26quot;Cradle 2 Grave%26quot;, (with Tito Ortiz, Randy Couture), %26quot;If any of those guys had hit me, I%26#039;d be dead, but that%26#039;s Hollywood%26quot;.

Would I use any his technique in combat, I am not trained that way, so I can%26#039;t give you an honest answer. I see him using Chin Na techniques which are universal to martial arts. There are principles common to all martial arts and combat arts.

I think the key word is art, it all depends on the artist.
