Martial Artist: If you practice Wushu what style would you recommend for overweight people?

tai chi chuan.|||it doesn%26#039;t really matter if your overweight or not, by doing martial arts you%26#039;ll lose weight really fast. just look and see what martial arts are in your area.|||i reccomend u lose the weight lol i cant see an overwieght person doing all those crazy jump spinny kicks

i would reccomend judo or japanese jiu jitsu for an overwieght person though.....|||You can do wushu for weight loss, but its hard if you got loooooots of weight to lose.

If you got lots of weight to lose you%26#039;d be better off doing cardio kick, kick fit, kick boxing, taebo, etc.. something like that.|||no martial arts are suited for overweight people. Especially not wushu, which isnt actually a martial art. The kind taught today is mostly gymnastics. However, martial arts will help you to a healthy fat percentage. i suggest something like boxing which incorporates a lot of cardio.

To all the %26quot;thumbs downers%26quot;: So you are saying that there are martial arts in that being overweight is an advantage? I seriously dont see how a person weighing 250 lbs of fat is going to be able jump around and do fancy tricks like in contemporary wushu. Seriously, think before you get all butt-sore.|||Wushu is a god martial art and it is a martial art...i would recommend Muay Thai....it gets you in shape and you would good in a boxing type of martial art.|||try tai chi thats an excellent Fitness sprot to get in shape and help you relaz.|||only thing for overweight people is sumo
